What We Are About

Our commitment to increasing access to healthy, locally produced food for underserved communities focuses on building capacity to serve underserved communities by increasing goods and services in our local food system, increasing food access through community partnerships and education, and reaching diverse partners who meet the dietary and cultural preferences of underserved communities. Through this approach, we aim to increase access to healthy foods while strengthening local food security and building a more resilient regional food system.

Our Goals

Building Capacity to Serve Underserved Communities

Spring Creek works to increase the overall supply of goods or services through partnerships with local producers to improve and expand their production, and to ensure that healthy food is available when and where needed by underserved communities. Spring Creek provides expertise and education for growers designed to increase capacity to reach these communities.

Increasing Food Access Through Community Partnerships, Education, & Resource Sharing

Spring Creek is dedicated to building capacity within underserved communities by strengthening connections between local growers and community-based organizations. By reducing logistical challenges such as transportation and distribution, Spring Creek enhances access to affordable, healthy food. Through partnerships with key community organizations, food is provided at reduced prices or donated to ensure that it reaches those most in need, fostering greater food security and supporting the well-being of vulnerable populations.

Reaching Diverse Partners
and Communities

Spring Creek aims to meet people where they are – working to reach diverse partners and the dietary and cultural preferences of underserved communities. Spring Creek aims to understand and address the needs of access partners (those who purchase from Spring Creek and distribute to their end users via feeding programs) as they work to increase access for their customers and clients, including dietary and cultural preferences. To ensure that foods are appropriate and accessible for different populations and solutions are tailored to meet the specific needs of diverse communities, Spring Creek works closely with access partners to provide education, training, and outreach at both the partner level and end user level to improve participation in access partner programming.
